Rebound and re-offer

- Age
- U12+
- Area
- Goal circle
- Equipment
- 3 netballs2 bibs
Setup
- GS and GA in the circle with GK (gk) and GD (gd); WA on the circle edge with the balls.
- Shooters aim to miss off the side of the ring on every other shot.
How it runs
- WA feeds a shooter, who shoots; both shooters follow the shot in.
- Whoever wins the rebound shoots again if close and balanced.
- If the angle is poor, they pass out to WA and both shooters re-offer.
- Attack scores for a goal, defence for a rebound; rotate after 8 shots.
Coaching points
- Move on the release: get round the defender's side, not through them.
- Jump to take the ball at its highest point, two hands, then land balanced.
- Close in and square to the post: shoot. Wide or off balance: pass out.
- Re-offer straight away; don't stand and watch the pass.
Common mistakes
- Waiting to see if the shot misses before moving.
- Pushing the defender to get to the ball.
- Forcing a second shot from a poor angle.
Say it: “Follow it, take it high, shoot or re-offer.”
Make it harder
- Defenders can jump for every rebound.
- Only 2 seconds to shoot after a rebound.
Make it easier
- Defenders stand still and turn only.
- Shots from close to the post.
