Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sportdify ("we", "us") collects when you use the Sportdify website and the Sportdify apps, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
- Your account: your name, email address and password, or the name and email address shared by Google or Apple if you sign in with them. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive Apple's private relay address.
- Player profiles: names, an optional date of birth, a photo, positions and similar details for you and for anyone you manage, such as your children.
- Club activity: memberships, teams, games, attendance, lineups, results, tournament entries, volunteer checks and other information you or your club add.
- Messages and posts: chat messages, polls, photos, videos and captions you send or share in the app.
- Recordings and livestreams: if you or your club record or livestream games, we store the video, the audio and information about the recording, such as the game, the time and the device used.
- Payments: when you pay a club or Sportdify, our payment provider Stripe (or Apple or Google for in-app purchases) processes your card. We receive the amount, the status and the last digits of the card, but never your full card number.
- Support and reports: what you tell us when you contact us or report content or a person.
Information We Collect Automatically
- Device and log information: your device type, operating system, app version, IP address, the pages and screens you use, and when.
- Notifications: a push notification token for your device, if you allow notifications.
- Location: only when you allow it, and only while you're using the app, to show clubs and games near you and to help pick a venue. We don't track your location in the background.
- Cookies: on the website we use cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Run the service: your account, clubs, games, chat, payments, recordings and notifications
- Process payments and send receipts, invoices and reminders
- Send technical notices, updates and support messages
- Keep Sportdify safe: review reports, remove content that breaks our terms, and prevent fraud and abuse
- Understand how the service is used and improve it
- Develop and improve automated camera features, such as finding the ball and players in a game, using still frames from game recordings. We don't use these frames to identify people or for facial recognition, and a club can turn this off in its recording settings at any time.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
Who Can See Your Information
- Your clubs: the owners and admins of clubs you join or play for can see your profile, membership, attendance, payments to the club and messages in club chats.
- Other members: people in the same club, team or chat can see your name, photo and what you post there.
- The public: club pages, public games, tournaments and livestreams are visible to anyone. Player pages are public only when switched on; they are off by default for under-18s.
Who We Share It With
We share information with the companies that help us run Sportdify, only as needed for the service they provide:
- Stripe: payments and payouts to clubs
- Apple and Google: sign-in, in-app purchases and push notifications
- RevenueCat: managing in-app purchases
- Our cloud storage provider: storing photos, videos and files
- Mux: video streaming and playback
- Ably: delivering chat messages in real time
- Resend: sending emails
- Google Maps: maps and place search
- OpenAI: AI features, such as suggesting a fixture schedule or answering questions in the AI assistant. We only send what the feature needs, and OpenAI doesn't use it to train its models.
- Vercel and Sentry: hosting the website, usage statistics and error reports
- YouTube and Facebook: when a club connects its YouTube channel or Facebook Page, we send them what's needed to start and end the club's livestreams there (see below)
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or with your permission.
Connecting a YouTube Channel or Facebook Page
A club owner or admin can connect the club's YouTube channel or Facebook Page so Sportdify starts and ends the club's livestreams there, instead of the club copying a stream key for each game.
What we access. When you connect a YouTube channel, you sign in with Google and allow Sportdify to manage your YouTube account (the youtube scope). We use that access only to:
- read the channel's ID and name, so we can show which channel is connected
- create a live broadcast for a game the club livestreams, with the game's title and description and the privacy setting the club chose (Public or Unlisted)
- create the stream that carries the video, start the broadcast when the camera goes live, and end it when the club stops
- remove a broadcast or stream we created for the club if the live never starts, so the channel isn't left with empty broadcasts
We don't read, change or delete your other videos, playlists, comments, subscriptions or analytics, and we don't post anything except the club's livestreams.
What we store. We store the channel's ID and name, and a refresh token that lets us start the club's lives later. The token is encrypted, used only on our servers, and never shown to anyone, including club admins.
Who we share it with. We don't sell this information or share it with anyone else, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. It is used only to run the club's livestreams, and is seen only by the people who run Sportdify where needed to support the club.
Removing access. A club owner or admin can disconnect the channel at any time, on the website or in the app. Disconnecting deletes the stored token and asks Google to revoke it. You can also remove Sportdify's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions. If a club is deleted, its connection is deleted too.
Google and YouTube terms. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Sportdify's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Connecting a Facebook Page works the same way: we use the access Meta grants only to read the Page's name and start and end the club's lives on it, and disconnecting deletes it.
Children
Children's profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who decides what is shared. Player pages for under-18s are private by default, and a parent or guardian approves a child joining a team through a link. If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent or guardian's permission, contact us and we will delete it.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account and the profiles you manage, except where we must keep records, such as payments and invoices for tax and accounting, or information needed to resolve a report or legal claim. Clubs you run are not deleted with your account. A replay a club hides is deleted after 7 days unless the club restores it.
Your Choices and Rights
- Delete your account in the app under Account › Delete account, or by emailing us.
- See or correct your information by editing it in the app, or ask us for a copy.
- Notifications and location can be turned off at any time in your device settings.
- Block or report people and content from inside the app.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict how we use your information, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and other reasonable measures. No service can be completely secure, so please keep your password safe.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change, and tell you about important changes in the app or by email.
