Rebound and box out
Defenders box out on the shot and win the rebound; shooters follow in to contest.
Start / 4
- Time
- 10 min
- Players
- 4–8
- Age
- U11+
- Area
- Goal circle
- Equipment
- 3 netballs
Setup
- GS and GA in the circle with GK and GD; a feeder outside with the balls.
How it runs
- Feeder passes to a shooter who shoots.
- On release, defenders turn, find a body and box out; attackers follow the shot.
- Rebound caught scores for that side; rotate after 8 shots.
Coaching points
- Turn on the release, not when it misses.
- Find your player first, then the ball.
- Arms up, elbows out, hold the space.
Common mistakes
- Watching the ball and letting the shooter in.
- Jumping too early.
Say it: “Turn, find, hold.”
Make it harder
- Shooter calls 'miss' and deliberately misses to the side.
- Add a third attacker crashing in.
Make it easier
- Shots from under the post.
- Attackers stay out for the first round.
