Setup
- Full court. GK in the defensive circle with the ball; WD, C, WA, GA and GS in their areas.
- Two shadow defenders, c and wd, mark C and WA at half pace to start.
How it runs
- Each player in turn drives straight down the sideline to receive; the passer then holds.
- The ball must be caught in every third: GK to WD, WD to C, C to WA, WA to GS.
- GA clears to the far side to leave the line open, then backs up the feed.
- Walk back and repeat down the other sideline.
Coaching points
- Drive straight down the line, not across the court.
- Show a target hand on the outside, away from the defender.
- Land, pivot to face up court, and pass within 3 seconds.
Common mistakes
- Drifting off the line into the middle and closing the space.
- Leading too early, so the run stops before the pass arrives.
Say it: “Straight down the line, catch, turn, go.”
Make it harder
- Defenders at full pace and allowed to intercept.
- Time the run: ball from GK to GS in under 8 seconds.
Make it easier
- No defenders.
- Use a bounce pass for the first two passes.
