Setup
- C with the ball in the centre third; WA marked by a WD (wd) near the transverse line.
- GS waits in the circle as the next target.
- Run groups of four side by side if you have the numbers.
How it runs
- WA makes a hard first lead towards C to pull wd with them.
- WA plants the outside foot and drives back the other way into the goal third.
- C passes ahead of the second lead; WA lands, balances and feeds GS.
- Four goes each, then rotate roles.
Coaching points
- Make the first lead real: sell it for two or three strides.
- Plant low on the outside foot, then push off hard the other way.
- C passes to the space in front of the drive, not to where WA was.
- Land on one foot and look to the circle before the 3 seconds run out.
Common mistakes
- A half-hearted first lead the defender ignores.
- Rounding off the change of direction instead of planting.
- Drifting into the circle, which WA can't enter.
Say it: “Sell it, plant, drive.”
Make it harder
- wd can intercept and counter.
- C can only pass once WA has started the second lead.
Make it easier
- wd defends at walking pace.
- WA calls which way they'll go first.
