Setup
- Put a cone about 1 m inside each post to mark the two corners.
- Shooters line up 15 m out; the coach stands to one side with the balls.
- One player in goal. Swap keepers every five shots.
How it runs
- The coach rolls a ball in. The shooter runs onto it, takes a touch towards goal and shoots.
- A goal in a corner scores 2, anywhere else 1. Fetch your ball and rejoin the line.
- Keep score over three rounds - right foot one round, left foot the next.
Coaching points
- Pick your corner before you shoot, then eyes on the ball as you strike.
- Standing foot next to the ball, pointing at the target.
- Strike through the middle of the ball with your laces to keep it low.
Common mistakes
- Leaning back, so the ball flies over.
- Shooting straight at the keeper.
Say it: “Pick a corner. Low and hard.”
Make it harder
- Shoot first time, no touch.
- Roll the ball in from wider so the angle is tighter.
Make it easier
- No keeper; just aim between the post and the cone.
- Shoot from 10 m at a ball that isn't moving.
