- Start closer for younger players so most kicks reach.
How it runs
- Kickers take turns, one at a time, starting from the middle cone.
- After everyone has kicked, the coach rolls the balls back out.
- Everyone moves one cone round the arc and goes again.
- Keep a team score: 6 for a goal, 1 for a behind.
Coaching points
- Pick a target behind the goals and line your body up with it.
- Take a few steady steps in, then kick through the ball.
- From the side, aim at the far goal post and let the ball come back in.
Common mistakes
- Rushing the run-up and slicing across the ball.
- Looking up at the goals as you drop the ball.
Say it: “Line up, steady steps, kick through.”
Make it harder
- Move the arc out to 20 m.
- Each player must kick from the wide cones with their other foot.
Make it easier
- Bring the cones in to 8 m and use only the three middle ones.
- Use wider goals made with cones.
