Setup

  1. Pairs, one holding a paddle at hip height, the other in fighting stance.

How it runs

  1. Ten back-leg roundhouse kicks, then ten front-leg, then switch sides.
  2. Holder raises the paddle to head height for the last five.
  3. Swap roles.

Coaching points

  • Chamber the knee first, then snap.
  • Pivot the standing foot fully.
  • Re-chamber and return to stance after each kick.

Common mistakes

  • Swinging the leg without a chamber.
  • Standing foot not pivoting, hips closed.

Say it: “Chamber, pivot, snap.”

Make it harder

  • Double kick on the same leg.
  • Holder moves between kicks.

Make it easier

  • Kick slowly with a hand on a wall.
  • Paddle at knee height.
