Setup
- A goal with a keeper; one defender starts on the edge of the penalty area.
- Attackers in pairs at halfway, one ball per pair.
How it runs
- A1 dribbles at the defender with A2 level and wide.
- If the defender steps to A1, A1 passes to A2; if the defender stays with A2, A1 keeps going and shoots.
- The pair has 8 seconds to score.
- If the defender or keeper wins it, the attack is over and the next pair goes.
- Rotate so everyone has a turn as defender.
Coaching points
- Ball carrier: run at the defender to make them choose.
- Supporting player: stay wide and level with the ball, not behind it.
- Pass when the defender commits; shoot when they don't.
- Pass along the floor into the teammate's path.
- Defenders stay on their feet.
Common mistakes
- Passing too early, before the defender commits.
- The supporting player running in front of the ball.
- Both attackers squeezing into the middle.
Say it: “Attack, draw, pass.”
Make it harder
- Six seconds to score.
- A second defender chases from halfway.
Make it easier
- The defender only walks.
- No keeper, a bigger target.
