Setup

  1. Lanes 40 m long and 10 m wide, groups of three per lane, one ball each group.

How it runs

  1. Three players run the lane together, handballing across and forward.
  2. Receiver must be in front of the ball carrier each time.
  3. At the end, kick back to the start and the next group goes.

Coaching points

  • Run to receive, not to watch.
  • Handball in front of the runner.
  • Talk: call for it and name the target.

Common mistakes

  • Receiver running level or behind.
  • Handballing to where the player is, not where they'll be.

Say it: “In front, in front.”

Make it harder

  • Add a chasing defender.
  • Four handballs minimum before the end.

Make it easier

  • Jog instead of run.
  • Two players per lane.
